We strive both personally and with our small business to make eco conscious decisions as much as possible. 

Starting with the paper we make our patterns, being repurposed from a printing shop no longer in business. To our textiles, researched and chosen to be eco-friendly, OEKO TEX certified or deadstock fashion fabrics otherwise going to a landfill. 

The majority of our notions including thread have been thrifted or upcycled. Our labels are organic, unbleached cotton made in North America. The tags we use to identify size were thrifted from a studio sale. 

Even to ensure less waste with shipping materials our bags are biodegradable. The paper your garment is wrapped within is made from recycled materials, non toxic and can be recycled itself. 

One step at a time we can make small sustainable choices that make a big impact.  The fast fashion industry is quickly damaging our planet and exploiting the lives of others. Now more than ever it’s important to consume less and focus more on a long lasting wardrobe that when well taken care of can be styled throughout the years. 

 

FIT FOR THE GODS is an independent specialty clothing brand based in Ontario, Canada.

Owned and operated by Sarah Sigwulf Hunter. A life long witch and seamstress with 20 years experience as a costume maker for pagan festivals, renaissance fairs, corsetry, film and theatre.

The mission is to provide handmade, quality custom items that combine a passion for history and the spiritual methods of our ancestors. As well as creating sustainable clothing to make as little impact to our earth as possible.

Inspired by the ancient and iron age societies of the Picts, Celtic Europe and bronze age mediterranean culture. Our products are made for those who share a similar love for the old gods, magic and expressions of ancestral reverence in a modern world.

Fit for the Gods only uses high-quality, OEKO-TEX certified textiles and create designs with little to no fabric waste. Our shipping products are also recyclable, biodegradable or made from recycled materials.

The fashion industry can be very wasteful yet we need to wear clothing and express ones self through it. Our goal is to create unique pieces that can be worn multiple ways and last when well taken care of. To help put a stop to unnecessary waste and create more sustainable options.
